Whiteout Survival Beginner's Guide 2026
Getting Started
Whiteout Survival can feel overwhelming at first. This guide breaks down everything you need to know for a strong start in the frozen wasteland.
1. Prioritize Your Furnace
Your furnace is the heart of your city. Everything depends on its level. Focus all resources on upgrading your furnace first — it unlocks better buildings, higher tier troops, and more powerful heroes. General rule: keep your furnace 2-3 levels ahead of everything else.
2. Resource Management
Food and wood are critical in the early game. Build and upgrade your farms and lumber mills before anything else. Always keep your resource production buildings maxed out for your furnace level. Use speed-ups wisely — save 1-hour+ speed-ups for events.
3. Hero Selection
Don't spread your resources across all heroes. Focus on 2-3 top-tier heroes and level them up. Early game standouts include: Sergey (great for rallies), Gina (excellent for gathering), and Jessie (solid all-rounder for PvE).
4. Join an Active Alliance
This might be the single most important decision you make. An active alliance provides alliance gifts, help with construction/research, and protection during wars. Join one within your first day of playing.
5. What NOT to Waste Resources On
- Don't upgrade every building equally — focus on furnace and key buildings only
- Don't waste gems on speed-ups — save them for VIP level and events
- Don't attack stronger players without scouting first
- Don't neglect your alliance — free rewards daily
First Week Checklist
| Day | Goal |
|---|---|
| 1-2 | Reach Furnace Level 10, join an alliance |
| 3-4 | Furnace Level 15, unlock second march queue |
| 5-7 | Furnace Level 18, unlock tier 5 troops |
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Over-upgrading unnecessary buildings: Some buildings are traps. Only upgrade what your furnace requires.
- Ignoring research: Economy research gives you massive long-term benefits. Keep your research center busy.
- Rushing without planning: Spontaneous spending leads to resource shortages. Always plan your upgrades.
